Registered Family Child Care
CCIS provides the Family Child Care Overview Class for individuals interested in opening a child care in their home. The registration process includes having a criminal background check on the adults living in the household, and/or any assistants they may hire. There are several requirements necessary to open a child care program in your own home:
Certificates from:
1. Family Child Care Overview
2. CPR/1st Aid Certification
3. Foodhandlers Certification
4. Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse & Neglect ClassClick here to view the rules and regulations for Registered Family Child Care programs.
Each person who submits an application to become registered needs to include copies of the above certificates. Once this is done with the application and appropriate fees, a Health & Safety Inspection will be scheduled with the child care provider. This cycle occurs every two years to renew registration.
At the time of renewal each provider will need to show current certification in CPR/1st Aid and Foodhandlers. In addition each provider must provide copies of certificates displaying attendance in an addition 8 hours of training in childhood care and education.
